UFO - Concorde 2 Concert REVIEW

CONCORDE 2, Brighton, England
Extract from Music Journalist Dave Ling's (Classic Rock, RAW, Metal Hammer, Frontiers) Diary

...Given my criticisms of Helloween's set-list (see Monday 6th December), some might call me hypocritical in praising a performance that remains based upon the immortal double-live set 'Strangers In The Night', with just two songs ('Saving Me' and 'Hell Driver') representing the current line-up with Vinnie Moore on guitar. Like many UFO fans, I crave some gems from the Tonka Chapman era. Judging by conversations that Neil J had with Phil Mogg and Andy Parker, it's a subject that the band are currently reviewing.

Meanwhile, I have rarely heard UFO play (and indeed sing) any better than they are doing right now. The addition of the rarely performed 'Lights Out' favourite 'Try Me' was such a truly magical moment that Mogg's minor lyric fumble rendered an irrelevance (check out YouTube footage of it here, likewise those renditions of Cherry' and 'Ain't No Baby' from 'Obsession' were superb.

Crucially, the band seemed to be having as much fun as the packed crowd, Moore and bassist Barry Sparks playing their instruments behind their heads during 'Too Hot To Handle'. At encore time they returned to the stage and fooled around with 'Riders On The Storm' by The Doors, which was amazing. In fact all the show really lacked was Mogg dedicating 'I'm A Loser' to the town's shambles of a so-called football team – now that would've made my night!

Anyway, here's the set-list: 'Saving Me', 'Mother Mary', 'Let It Roll', 'I'm A Loser', 'This Kids', 'Cherry', 'Hell Driver', 'Try Me', 'Only You Can Rock Me', 'Love To Love', 'Ain't No Baby', 'Too Hot To Handle' and 'Lights Out', encores of 'Rock Bottom', 'Doctor Doctor' and 'Shoot Shoot'.

Last Night: PHOTOS from Concorde 2 in Brighton, England

What an immense show!!

We arrived at 7.30, bumping into Phil Mogg along Brighton's seafront and walking to the venue with the man himself - The night started with Voodoo Six hitting the stage at 8pm - Great band and well received. Phil actually tipped me off to watch the band, highly recommending them as one of the best support groups.

Touching on the highlights, if possible as every song was amazing - UFO hit the stage sometime after 9pm - Saving Me - Great intro to the evening. The feedback for 'Let it Roll' always sends shivers down my spine - Cherry - Try Me being my personal highlight - see John's superb Video below - Only You Can Rock Me - Too Hot To Handle - Lights Out - Rock Bottom - as well as all the banter between tracks and 'Riders On The Storm' - Great stuff. Love To Love was IMMENSE and on par with 'Try Me', and perfectly executed, bubbling with emotion. Vinnie's guitar work was mind blowing, Phil's vocals were spot on as well as his humour, Paul was having a lot of fun, Barry is a great showman and Andy was, as ever BRILLIANT - Loved the drumming, so much feel.

I met up with the band afterwards and, as ever, we were made to feel very welcome - Thanks guys - Safe Journey home

CONCERT REPORT - O2 Academy Liverpool

DarkDwarf Blog
I probably should be doing something else...

Monday, 6 December 2010
UFO - O2 Academy Liverpool 5th Dec 2010
Back from tonight's UFO gig and still buzzing after a superb performance by one of THE definitive heavy rock bands.

Arrived at 8pm to find the support band Voodo Six cranking up. They were a bit 'metaltastic' (cha0tic would probably describe them as a "noisy waste of electricity"), but I thought they were worth a listen, as they were pretty good at what they were doing.

The gig was being played in the smaller of the 2 venues in the building, which gave it a great atmosphere. I was having a laugh with a few people round about me, and talking about favourite songs that we wanted to hear.

We weren't disappointed. UFO took to the stage and gave us 2 hours of solid rock!

Songs from the new album were performed before the band settled into a run of the best stuff from the Phenomenon, Obsession and Lights Out albums.

Vinnie Moore adds his own style of melodic/shred guitar, and does a fine job of it too, without detracting from the original numbers.

Barry Sparks was filling in for Pete Way (who is currently ill), and is a superb bass player in his own right. Thundering riffs in all the right places.

Phil Mogg seemed to be amazed that there were a couple of 14 year olds in the crowd - he asked them if they're Dad had brought them, reminisced about his first gigs, and kept reminding himself to mind his language. Andy Parker gave the lads his drumsticks as a souvenir at the end.

They performed the best rendition of "Love To Love" that I've heard to date. Encores were "Rock Bottom" and what seemed like half an hour later (if you know the song you'll know why) the inevitable "Doctor Doctor". It was also great to hear "Only You Can Rock Me" performed properly i.e. not be me and my mates :)

Concert REVIEW from 'The Picturedome', Holmfirth

UFO: Holmfirth Picturedome 4 December 2010 Review.
December 5th, 2010
Andy

Went to see the mighty UFO in concert at the Holmfirth Picturedome last night. And man – do they still have it. The band were on blistering top form with a strong set featuring the usual hardy perennials and a few surprises.

First – the venue. If you've never heard of it, Holmfirth is a small town in West Yorkshire at the edge of the Pennines. It's claim to fame is being the setting for the (overly) long running BBC TV "comedy" Last Of The Summer Wine but the least said about that the better…….The Picturedome is marvellous however. An old cinema with a capacity of around 500 or so. A tight place with great views from anywhere and a nice pub almost next door for a pre-gig beer or two.

Anyhoo – the concert. Voodood Six (no offence boys, never heard of you) opened up for half an hour or so. They put plenty of effort in to it all right though didn't sound like my bag though a little research this morning shows plenty of good reviews for their stuff.

Then it was time for UFO. Phil Mogg, Paul Raymond, Andy Parker and Vinnie Moore joined by Barry Sparks on the bass. There' no shock and awe pyrotechnical dazzling stage show but that's OK because UFO do not need one. Their sheer class, professionalism, musicianship and delivery means there's plenty going on up on stage and the music does the talking.

Something of a surprising opener with Saving Me from The Visitor and the acoustic intro then it's straight in to the classics with Let It Roll getting the Picturedome rocking and it never lets up after that until the always rousing Shoot Shoot closes things off almost two hours later.

In between the reliable (but never disappointing no matter how many times you've seen UFO play) stuff is delivered with power and effortless style particularly from Mogg's still powerful vocals and Vinnie Moore's sublime shredding guitar. Andy Parker really attacks his drums and is so solid in behind. Nothing fancy but so rock solid. Paul Raymond as ever is something of the quiet man (where did you get that shirt from Paul……) but so essential. Barry Sparks – fine bass player) puts in some Way-esque moves and fits in fine (not seen him play with UFO before).

Mogg's dry humour shines through between songs and gives the crowd a giggle – "this is from one of our albums" for example and a little joke at Vinnie's expense featuring underarm deodorant. You had to be there……

What a show. Five class acts up on the stage who gel together (well, they've known each other long enough…..), can really play and look like they have so much fun doing so. You know to a large extent what you're going to hear (and see) but even so Only You Can Rock Me, Lights Out, Doctor Doctor, Lights Out, Rock Bottom et al always sound fresh.

The big surprise last night was Try Me – I've seen UFO many, many times over the years and cannot recall them ever playing Try Me before. And also Ain't No Baby from the Obsession album.

The full set list was (I hope I've remembered it correctly):

Saving Me
Let It Roll
Mother Mary
When Daylight Goes To Town
I'm A Loser
This Kids
Cherry
Hell Driver
Try Me
Only You Can Rock Me
Love To Love
Ain't No Baby
Too Hot To Handle
Lights Out

Encores:
Rock Bottom
Doctor Doctor
Shoot Shoot

An outstanding evening. You simply can't go wrong with UFO.

Their 21st studio album is due out next year, they've got energy, humour, and the inevitable tightness as a unit that comes from playing together for so long. Fantastic set, wonderful performance, and an insanely enthusiastic audience response. It doesn't get much better than this"

2nd November 2010

The band head home after a triumphant tour of 'The Visitor European/Scandinavian Tour'.

This review, published yesterday, sums up the mood of the tour (Translated from Swedish to English)

UFO - fortfarande på topp

UFO - still on top

For the uninitiated, perhaps UFO just that old British band with the song "Doctor Doctor". In The Merry Cans opening night showing the four-decade-seasoned group that they are so much more.

Five minutes after the appointed time draws UFO started with "Save Me" from the past, strong album "The Visitor". A good start with punchy choruses. Then comes the whole two hours of rough, heavy, classic, melodic hard rock. The musical sound is balanced mat in place immediately, and Phil Mogg's crisp, clear voice penetrates easily through.

In the middle of the concert, we also hear "Hell Drivers" from the last album, a guitar-dominated song with nice riffs, loops signed Vinnie Moore. It's fun when a 40-year band performs new, strong songs, and not only have to lean on old classics. Among the older songs interpreted especially "Love to Love", "To Hot to Handle" and "Only You Can Rock Me" in a well-deserved way.

Guitarist Vinnie Moore consistently show why he is a big name in the industry. With Yngwie Malmsteen's speed, Eddie Van Halen melodic class and verging on Gary Moore's sense, he may, of course, much room for the solo parts. Normally such soon bring out a collective yawn audience. This is no risk in case Vinnie Moore. There are simply too technically elegant and melodic emotional in order to be tired.

In addition, he has Paul Raymond who backs up the guitar / keyboard period. In "To Hot to Handle" offers strängbändaren in a two-minute spectacular solo party with the guitar placed behind the neck.

Extra numbers "Rock Bottom", "Doctor Doctor" - with one of rock history's most beautiful intros - and "Shoot Shoot" makes most certainly go home with a smile in upprymt snöslasknatten.

HELSINKI - CANCELLED

Due to Phil Mogg losing his voice - Phil started to struggle at Spirit 66 two nights ago and although
last nights Classic Rock Cruise went ahead Phil only managed to complete the set with great difficulty.
It has been decided that Phil should rest for two days but means
with regret, that the Helsinki date be cancelled. We wish Phil a speedy recovery.

As reported, 'Try Me' was first played at Hedon. Here is a posting on YouTube.

TONIGHT

20th October - Holland - Zwolle - Hedon

LAST NIGHT

I have been amazed by the reaction from UFO fans regarding last nights inclusion of the song, 'TRY ME' in the set list. Having recieved numerous e-mails, I decided to dig a little deeper in the 'Misty Green and Blue' archives, which will hopefully answer some questions about the 'Lights Out' album track

As reported, 'Try Me' was played LIVE last night - The second time ever at any concert in UFO's history. The first time was in June 1977 - During UFO's 'Lights Out' tour. 'Try Me' was played LIVE, only once during this year and on the last date of the UK tour at London's Roundhouse.

Captured on 'The Official Bootleg Box Set' album. The information on the album sleeve is INCORRECT - the Roundhouse recordings were NOT from the 2nd April 1977. UFO's 'Lights Out' tour didn't start until the end of April 1977. UFO toured the UK in June that year and the actual Roundhouse concert date was 12th June 1977. UFO started their tour in Sweden at the end of April and then moved onto Europe - Germany, Switzerland, Holland in May of that year. 'Try Me' was not played during this tour but was rehearsed during the latter part of the UK dates during their pre-concert soundchecks. Documented on the bootleg album "UFO By Request" (primarily a 1974 Zurich concert recording) but with the inclusion of 'Try Me'/'Just Another Suicide' as the last track. The recording was taken from the Blackpool (UK) soundcheck on 9th June 1977 - The song was not included in the set that evening, neither did it appear in the Manchester set (11th June 77). 'Try Me' was showcased the following evening on UFO's last date. This was the one and only performance of the song

UFO went on to tour the USA in September 1977 but as Schenker bailed and Paul Chapman stood in on guitar duties, 'Try Me' wasn't to feature again. The closest fans got to witnessing 'Try Me' was on the 2005 double-LIVE DVD realease, 'Showtime', featuring the band playing the track live in the studio. No wonder seeing the return of the song as part of the set list last night has created such a reaction.

TRY ME was played LIVE last night at JAZZHAUS - For the First time since 1977

Barry Sparks has issued the following update on his website:

"Thanks for checking out my website! I spent the summer touring Europe with UFO. Memorable moments may include: Germany, which is always great and this time we were able to squeeze in some sightseeing. The high Voltage Festival in London had us playing alongside some great bands like: ELP, Joe Elliott, MARILLION etc. Once we got a few technical problems ironed out the show was a blast! Playing with UFO is always a thrill! Vinnie Moore is a spectacular guitarist; Andy Parker is a rock solid drummer! Phil Mogg is singing better than ever and Paul Raymond has always given UFO that genuine British feel! And congrats on your wedding Paul! I'm also very excited because its already time to start another European tour with UFO!

UFO – Best Of A Decade (SPV/Steamhammer)

To the countless UFO compilations add this strange but endearing beast. Cynics might identify it as the most obvious cash cow for the relaunched SPV label but there is some merit in showcasing the golden years of this enduring British institution.

The best compliment it is possible to pay UFO is that their latter day material is, on the whole, every bit as good as the music in 2010.

And while Pete and his buddies could so easily have sat on their proverbial arses, playing sizeable gigs packed with familiar classics, a longstanding work ethic has prevailed. Hence the band continues to make great music and makes a point of playing it – often at the expense of some back catalogue favourites.

Tracks like Hard Being Me and Daylight Comes To Town stand alongside the very best tunes from the band's commercial heyday. Oozing emotion and bleeding quality they are proof that the decision to pen original material long past their perceived sell-by date has reaped unexpected rewards.

Of course this wouldn't be a UFO Best Of without Doctor Doctor and a live version of that brilliant standard brings a cracking record to a close. If you thought UFO ceased to exist after 1980 think again. SR

The radio festival show in Chicago headlined by UFO has been cancelled. I knew something was up when they listed Ratt on the bill and Ratt knew nothing about it. Never a good sign! Of course I already paid for a plane ticket that weekend so it looks like I'll still go to Chicago and hang with friends and watch football that weekend. Also there is a new UFO Best Of A Decade CD that features the Vinnie Moore stuff. The last three albums were great and this is a cool way to sample the recent stuff if you don't have it.

Calling all UFO fans

I have an interview scheduled with Andy Parker this Friday. These are a few questions I have....

How is Pete Way's health these days? And will he participating in the writing of the next studio album?

Jason Bonham stepped in your abscence for a while, what was the reason for your departure from the band?

Who approached you about coming back to UFO? Did you have any second thoughts about coming back to the band?

What's it like playing with Vinnie Moore vs. playing with Michael Schenker or Paul Champman?

UFO will be releasing a SPV Records retrospective that culls material from the three studio albums and the live record. Did the band have any say in the track selection?

How much longer do you see yourself playing music?

Before you guys call it a day, do you envision doing some live shows or perhaps some new material with Schenker?

feedback please....

Press Release follows...

NEW ‘THE BEST OF A DECADE’ CD RELEASED SEPTEMBER 20TH ON SPV

UFO, the massively successful multi-million selling classic British metal band whose musical star is burning brighter than ever in the 21st Century, over 40 years since their inception, are set to release ‘The Best Of A Decade’, the first compilation to feature songs from the Vinnie Moore era, on SPV / Steamhammer on September 20th.

UFO, whose main stage performance at London’s High Voltage Festival was rapturously received on 25th July 2010, return to play Birmingham’s Institute on December 2nd, then headline the Hard Rock Hell 4 Festival in Wales on December 3rd, before playing their final live show in the UK in 2010 at Holmfirth Picturedrome on December 4th.

‘The Best Of A Decade’ contains over 80 minutes of pure UFO rock, an 8 page booklet with extensive sleeve notes and photos, and will be available for a cool, low, introductory nice price.

BRIEF REVIEW

So many transitions. UFO has been there. Do you wish for the classic early Eighties UFO with Michael Schenker? Or maybe the Nineties redux with the same? Or maybe your first experience is with Phil Mogg and guitar hero Vinnie Moore in the 21st century. Well, the Best of the Decade is the latter. This is the current UFO: heavy on blues rock with tons of melody and hooks. Is this representative arena rock that hade them famous? Longtime fans stay steady. Best of the Decade is the best of UFO in the last ten years, and it’s a perfect picture of this great band in this day..

...This is classic and current UFO. I dig it and so should you, especially if you’re a fan.

UFO head back home after their very successful, albeit an 'eventful', tour...

...the 30hr bus journey from Greece due the Volcanic Ash cloud grounding all flights (here in the UK again today), two bass players as Barry was urgently called back home - The band played at 18 venues in a three week period in the following places:

Germany
Greece
England
Scotland
Wales
Belgium
Holland
France

Most pleasing was the varied set-list not only from from venue to venue but from country to country. Songs performed:

Let It Roll - Mother Mary - Saving Me - Daylight Goes To Town - Out In The Street - Stop Breaking Down - This Kidds - Hell Driver Cherry - Only You Can Rock Me - Love To Love - Ain't No Baby - Too Hot To Handle - Lights Out - Rock Bottom - Doctor Doctor - Shoot Shoot

The band have a brief rest before travelling to Brazil.

UFO spotted rolling back the rock’n’roll years in Cardiff

May 1 2010 by David Owens, South Wales Echo

THE evening’s openers Voodoo Six played an energetic, well-received set.

A London-based five-piece, their twin guitars and up-front bass formation laid down some seriously heavy riffing. They’re evidently one band to watch.

It’s 25 years since UFO’s last Cardiff gig but the years dissolved away when they took to the stage.

Opening with a kicking Let It Roll, they had the crowd roaring them on from the off.

Paul Raymond’s keyboards have always lent texture to UFO’s best songs, as demonstrated on Out In The Street, the epic Love To Love and the crowd led, call and response anthem Only You Can Rock Me.

This had audience bellowing out the words: “You ain’t with us, then it’s just bad news”, which was ironic, given there was no danger of that situation developing. Singer Phil Mogg was beaming throughout, obviously in his element; the consummate frontman amusing the crowd with his banter and keeping the Welsh fans happy by quoting from Dylan Thomas’ poem, Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night.

The rest of the band were equally on form. Drummer Andy Parker was a powerhouse at the back, bassist Barry Sparkes substituted in fitting style for the absent Pete Way, while guitarist Vinnie Moore is now a well established member of the band, standing up to previous legendary UFO axe-man Michael Schenker.

With an unstoppable momentum the set built to a crescendo with live favourites Too Hot To Handle, Lights Out, Rock Bottom and Doctor Doctor. “It’s been a pleasure,” shouted Phil Mogg, as the band took their front stage bows and thanked the audience.

The feeling was definitely mutual.

Cardiff - Having got some rest, I can now give you a brief review from Cardiff in South Wales.

The band were in superb form and without doubt it was one of their finest performaces that I had witnessed. UFO were enjoying every moment, interacting with each other constantly (including Andy). Barry Sparks really fits into the mix like a glove, his playing and stage presence is superb. This is a great UFO line-up. The crowd were fantastic and UFO seemed energised by their reaction. From the very first moment that Vinnie created the feedback loop from guitar to amp (link is from HMV Picture House, not Cardiff by the way) as 'Let It Roll' cut through - an excellent choice for the opening number - the fans went wild. Another great classic followed, 'Mother Mary' ensuring that the atmosphere was electric. The three tracks over the evening which were played from 'The Visitor' got an amazing reaction from the crowd and these now sit very comfortably within the set-list. 'Stop Breaking Down' was performed live and I was really knocked out by the performance. FANTASTIC. I hope this becomes part of the set. 'Love to Love' was immense - beautiful. 'Ain't No Baby' from Obsession is such a great choice but I would lreally ove to see 'Pack It Up and Go' from the same album, maybe one day. 'Lights Out' and 'Rock Bottom' were brilliant. The night was magical and the band played two encores. Looking forward to 'High Voltage', London in July. Tris

LAST NIGHT - Thanks to Mark for the update:

UFO were outstanding in Sheffield last night.

The band were firing on all six, and the sizeable audience responded in kind. I got myself down the front in the second row and sang every word. The band played for 1 hour 45 minutes and I must have needed to pee for about 1 hour 15 but I wasn't moving for anything. The set was excellent - thanks to the band for playing Stop Breaking Down. Highlights for me included Out In the Streets, Cherry, and a stonking Ain't No Baby. Special thanks to Barry Sparks whose top-notch performance evoked the spirit of the sadly absent Mr Way in no uncertain terms.

Volcanic ash disruption enters fourth day in UK

UFO are faced by a logistical nightmare as they prepare to travel from Greece back to Europe.

As you can see by the map above, the Volcanic ash now affects many countries. The band have until tomorrow night (Monday) to travel from Thessaloniki to Nuremberg which is over 1,000 miles.

Wednesday's schedule is to tour the UK for seven days but here on Sunday, the UK is enduring a fourth day as a virtual no-fly zone, as the travel chaos caused by volcanic ash drifting from Iceland shows no sign of ending.

Flight restrictions have been extended until at least 1900 BST and forecasters say the ash cloud could remain over the UK for several more days. Will try and keep you all updated.

Vinnie Moore posted the following update on his Official Fan Page:

First 2 UFO shows rocked. We are in full tour mode now, playing thessaloniki, Greece tonight. We are heading to Germany tomorrow but have had to alter our travel plans because many airports have closed. We now have to fly half way and drive the rest on the tour bus, and i think the last 30 miles will be on a camel. so a 2 hour flight has become a 24+ excursion. there goes our day off. volcanic ash? wtf man?

Here then is the Audio recording release:

Top of the Pops, also known as TOTP, is a British music chart television programme, made by the BBC and originally broadcast weekly from 1 January 1964 to 30 July 2006. It was traditionally shown every Thursday evening on BBC1, before being moved to Fridays in 1996, and then moved to Sundays on BBC Two in 2005. Each weekly programme consisted of performances from some of that week's best-selling popular music artists, with a rundown of that week's singles chart.

UFO tour bassist (Euro and USA 2008, USA 2009), Rob De Luca has released an update

Hello all, it's been a busy season:

The UFO fall US tour was a blast. What an incredible band! It was cool to see a bunch of familiar faces from 2008, and many new ones. Much thanks to METALLICA and BUMBLEFOOT for comin' out to watch. Extra special thanks to all the fans, you're intense dedication is so appreciated. After that, UFO headed over to Europe which completely kicked ass!! I was psyched to see Basel, Switzerland, where I'd never been. (Shout out to VINNIE MOORE who's in Europe now with his solo tour- go see it!)

The same day UFO finished, I flew to Finland to meet up with the SEBASTIAN BACH BAND. Our first show (on no rehearsal!) was direct support for the legendary ALICE COOPER at the Esport Arena in Helsinki. Alice and band were so friendly to us and of course their show was amazing. Thanks also to MICHAEL MONROE for joining us onstage in Turku, Finland for "Taxi Driver". We then ravaged our way across Europe. I was happy to make it to Budapest, where I'd never been. Such warm people, and of course back to Italia!!! By the time we got to Rome the BACH band was absolutely on fire!
We were home for the holidays barely long enough to pet the cat, then back out on the road. This time as direct support for GUNS N' ROSES across Canada. I can not express how cool AXL and the gang were to us, including their crew. It's such a huge privilege to play sold out arenas and I think the fans really appreciated having two of the absolute best hard rock frontmen on one stage. I surely did!!! The GN'R show is a definite "must see" and the afterparties were almost as wild as the shows. DANKO JONES was the opener and is also a really good rock band of supercool people. Thank you again so much Canada!!
SEBASTIAN played a few packed out headline shows on the way home and now the CHINESE DEMOCRACY/ANGEL DOWN WORLD TOUR rolls on to South America, so look out for us.....
I also wanted to mention that LOVEMBER RECORDS has just released the debut album from my band OF EARTH and made it available FREE for anyone and everyone at http://OfEarth.bandcamp.com
It was co-engineered by Grammy winner Tom Camuso and I think it turned out really good.
See you out there, somewhere... Rob De Luca.

GUNS N' ROSES/SEBASTIAN BACH dates:
3/7/10 - Brasilia, Brazil @ Ginasio Nilson Nelson Arena
3/10/10 - Belo Horizonte, Brazil @ Mineirinho Arena
3/13/10 - Sao Paulo, Brazil @ Palestra Italia Stadium

UFO Related

Kevin Alba from MetalAsylum.net has submitted the following report:

HAIL!, the all-star band featuring bassist David Ellefson (ex-MEGADETH), guitarist Andreas Kisser (SEPULTURA), vocalist Tim "Ripper" Owens (YNGWIE MALMSTEEN, ex-JUDAS PRIEST, ICED EARTH) and newly appointed chameleon drummer Mike Portnoy (DREAM THEATER), played its first U.S. show last night (Tuesday, January 26) at B.B. King Blues Club & Grill in New York City.

As a special treat for New York, SAVATAGE/TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA guitarist Chris Caffery joined the guys on smoking renditions of "Lights Out" by UFO (which Ripper said the band learned just for Eddie Trunk who presented the band tonight because UFO is his favorite band)
