Lelo Nirvana, Mr FM Radio Culture and possible contributor to the Cult 22 (program and blog), was yesterday (27 / 5) in Goiania to give the show's UFO British group, the Bolshoi Pub ... and came back excited! Check out the reviews.

It seems incredible, but it really happened. A UFO landed yesterday (27 fifths) in Goiania. Indeed, the Unidentified Flying Object (UFO), or UFO - the literal translation for the Portuguese - who played extraordinarily in Bolshoi Pub British band had its first record in 1969 and influenced the great names of heavy metal world, as Iron Maiden, for example. It is worth noting that the position of bassist Steve Harris on stage resembles that of Pete Way, bassist of the original UFO.

The group arrived in Brazil with at least 10 years of delay, as their more famous - Deep Purple, Black Sabbath and Uriah Heep - visit Brazil since the 1990s. The show was for a select audience (with many GMT) that filled the dependencies of the pub, a house full of style. The atmosphere is very intimate and the sound quality was impeccable. Important to emphasize that shows well in Goiânia, has become a constant thanks to a partnership of two Rodrigos: the Carrilho, owner of the Bolshoi, and Scelza, tour manager of the UFO. The fans are thankful.
At exactly 23h14, the presenter began thanks to the sponsors and collaborators, following on an extensive touring schedule that promotes the Bolshoi. The long speech was not long before being interrupted by a chorus: "iu" ("U"), "EFI" (F), "or" ("O"). The DJ dropped the issue by creating a climate of high expectation. The band was coming with original drummer Andy Parker, guitarist and keyboardist Paul Raymond, the virtuoso Vinnie Moore (guitar hero in the band since 2003), bassist Rob De Luca (who recently accompanied the band, Sebastian Bach, opening for Guns N 'ROSES) and vocalist Phil Mogg, now a lord, but with the same look as a boy in the 1970s. UFO brings the country to tour its 20th album, The Visitor (2009).

The show was opened by Let It Roll, the classic album Force It. Mogg's voice remains the same, singing with ease. Mother Mary was the second, and Paul Raymond came out from behind the keyboards to the guitar, then quickly When the little-known Daylights Goes to Town, Phase Vinnie Moore. The sequence was then slayer: Out in the Streets and This Kids, recalling the double live album Strangers in the Night. The crowd was delirious when the bassist started Cherry - missing a beat of Pete Way, who can not come because of health problems. Followed with a song from the new album and more hits as Only You Can Rock Me. The drummer Andy Parker beat very strong and seemed quite happy.

At that time of night, came the most exciting moment, the ballad Love to Love. Followed with three more classics: Is not No Baby, Too Hot to Handle and Lights Out Expected in which, unlike the presentation in Sao Paulo, did not roll the expected phrase "Lights out in Goiânia. At that moment I realized that many people were there for Vinnie Moore, as many chanted his name only. They returned to encore with Rock Bottom and a solo by Moore that mileage, extremely competent, left me wistful improvisations of Pete Way, Michael Schenker (UFO the classical guitarist, who also played on the Scorpions). To conclude, the most famous of the group, Doctor Doctor. When he said goodbye and gathered the instruments roadies, Phil Mogg resolved to assemble the musicians on the side of the stage and played one more, Shoot Shoot, a gift for Goiania.

And I saw the UFO in the night of full moon. We wait for the workshop Vinnie Moore in Brasilia, the promise of Marcelo Barbosa, the GTR Guitar Institute.
