SPANISH REVIEW

UFO + Bulletmonks - Sala Heineken (Madrid), 5/12/09

A few weeks ago we spoke of a hinge group between 70 and 80. The band before us, UFO, also could be associated with that category, and who helped create the hard rock abc as we know it. It is no accident that we can recognize many successions of chords and musical resources of the English in many of the heavy hits of the 80s, even letters of the type of Only You Can Rock Me or Too Hot To Handle became very common years later.

Very positively surprised by the openers Bulletmonks, their shirts and stickers Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath Guns' N Roses and Pantera are not deceptive, classic rock Motörheadiana speed, and every good American rhythms cool and lively. Very good.
UFO arrived in Madrid with the absence of two of its members classics, Michael Schenker, who finally abandoned after the training back almost ten years ago and more recent decline of Pete Way, prompting bassist Steve Harris wielding such an instrument (do not you ring a bell how to "ride" of low-Lights Out?). They presented a new album, The Visitor, which went on tiptoe for the setlist.

The current guitarist Vinnie Moore did not stop for a moment, greet the audience, signing records and give spikes alternated with great solos like Let It Roll and powerful riffs. Excellent in every way. Other great moments came during the release Mystery Train, progressive approaches to Love To Love and delirium end with the famous Rock Bottom and Doctor Doctor.

Enjoyable thanks to the new life of Vinnie Moore and Rob De Luca, who pulled out the concert and brought the vitality.
